Hi Everyone,
My sister Tiffany and I are here to share our mom, Cindy's, medical journey.
Since August, our mom’s life has been turned completely upside down by a rare neurological condition called hemiplegic migraines, something that affects only about 0.01% of the population. These aren’t typical migraines — they can cause symptoms that mimic a stroke, including temporary paralysis, severe neurological effects, and intense pain.
Because of how unpredictable and debilitating these episodes are, our mom has not been able to work or drive since August. What used to be a normal, independent life has suddenly become filled with medical appointments, uncertainty, and trying to manage symptoms that can appear without warning.
One of the hardest parts of this journey has been the waiting. Due to how complex and rare this condition is, she will not be able to have her first follow-up appointment with a neurologist until April, leaving her in a difficult position as she continues navigating these symptoms while waiting for more answers and a treatment plan.
If you know our mom, she is the kind of person who has always shown up for everyone else. She has always been strong, independent, full of life, and the one people could count on. Seeing her go through something so life-altering has been incredibly difficult for our family.
With Mom being unable to work for the past several months and her medical needs continuing to grow, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Living alone means the monthly bills don’t stop — rent, utilities, groceries, and basic expenses continue to add up while she has no income coming in.
As her daughters, it’s heartbreaking to watch her face this while navigating such a rare and difficult condition. We created this fundraiser to help ease the burden so our mom can focus on healing and keeping a roof over her head, rather than worrying about how she will make ends meet.
Funds raised will help support:
• Medical bills and neurological care
• Treatments and medications
• Transportation to appointments
• Everyday living expenses while she is unable to work
If you are able to donate, share this page, or simply keep our mom in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean more than we can express. We are so grateful for any support during this incredibly challenging time.
Thank you for helping us stand beside our mom while she fights through this.
With love,
Deynece & Tiffany
