I’m writing to share the difficult situation of my mother-in-law, Becky, who has been bravely battling a reoccurrence of cancer over the past year. Despite her ongoing struggles, she has been doing her best to manage the physical toll of the disease, as well as the financial challenges that come with it.

Then, in a cruel twist of fate on April 3rd, a powerful storm struck, and a large tree fell on the rental home where Becky has been living for the last 5 years. The damage was catastrophic; her home was destroyed, and the rain caused severe water damage, ruining much of her belongings. She lost almost everything, including the few possessions that brought her comfort. To make matters worse, she is now left without a safe place to stay during an already incredibly difficult time when her health, peace, and comfort should be her main concern.

The funds here will go directly to:

Housing: We need to secure a safe, stable place for Becky to stay while she navigates her medical treatment.

Replacing essential belongings: Becky lost almost everything in the storm, and the water damage ruined many of her personal items. We want to help her replace basic necessities, from clothing to household items, and restore a sense of stability.

Medical expenses: These funds will help Becky continue her care without the added stress of mounting medical bills.
