Help our mate Pinky

OK, people – hoping you out there can help out a mate.

Most long-term locals will know Pinky (aka Matty Flynn). He is the most stoic guy I know, and would never ask for help. As you may be aware, he has been battling cancer for many years now, and has gone through numerous rounds of treatment and surgeries. He has faced all of this with a never-give-in attitude which always amazes me.

He is now faced with a major operation for which he will have to travel to, and stay in, Brisbane. As a pensioner, the financial stress of covering accommodation costs for both he and his mum, Judy, is significant. I just want to do something to take some of the load off for them.

Pinky is part of our Kuranda family, and I am asking for any help that the community can provide to support Pinky in meeting those costs. I know that everyone is struggling financially right now, but any help would be very much appreciated.
