Last summer, our beautiful friend Nic was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, and since then life has changed in ways none of us could ever have imagined.

Nic has been incredibly brave throughout months of intense treatment, but sadly the treatment hasn’t reduced her levels enough for her to receive the bone marrow transplant that doctors had hoped for. The options remaining are palliative care or a clinical trial, which we are all hoping will give her the chance she deserves.

Nic isn’t just fighting for herself — she is a devoted single mum to children who rely on her every single day. They are her whole world, and she is theirs.

Because of her illness, Nic has been unable to work for a long time and her pay has now come to an end. She is currently waiting on a decision for Personal Independence Payment but in the meantime the financial pressure is overwhelming.

Nic also doesn’t drive, which means every hospital visit — and there have been many — involves taxis, lifts, or other transport costs. With appointments, treatments, and now the possibility of frequent trips for the clinical trial, these costs are quickly becoming impossible to manage.

We’re hoping to raise money to help take away some of the financial stress so Nic can focus on what truly matters: her health and her children. Donations will help with:

• Travel to and from hospital appointments and treatment

• Day-to-day living costs while she is unable to work

• Supporting her children during this incredibly difficult time
