Help Our Lovely Mother Kathleen's Dream Come True
Beschermde donatie
Our family is proud to say that Kathleen is not like most people. The doctors gave her a diagnosis of ALS, but like most challenges she has had in her life, she does not believe in their prognosis and dreams of a hopeful future. A big part of Kathleen's life has been Ayurveda, and she wants to go back to an Ayurvedic hospital in India together with her husband in time for their 45-year marriage anniversary.
At the time of writing Kathleen's situation is stable despite the diagnosis and she is putting her trust and faith in treatment options outside conventional care, which has really not much to offer in terms of treatment. Medications for ALS has been tried and they made Kathleen feel very sick and are not an option.
Kathleen believes in healing with the help of holistic health systems like Ayurveda and Yoga. Her, the husband Jan, and all of us wants to give Kathleen the chance to go back to the place she holds so close to her heart and get treatment from Ayurvedic doctors at Rajah Healthy Acres in Kerala India.

Kathleen is not the type of person who asks for help...
but rather wants to help everyone else. But now we want to help her make her dream come true. It is time she is taken care of for once! So she agreed for us to make this fundraiser, but wants it said the she believes she will recover and does not want any focus on the negative narratives surrounding the ALS-diagnosis given to her.

The money will go to Kathleen's and husband Jan's trip and stay at the Ayurvedic hospital in India. It will be a very meaningful thing that will make a huge difference for our family.
What the money will be used for:
- Travel costs to and from India
- Stay at the Ayurvedic Hospital in India for treatment
- Herbal medicines to take back from India that will help Kathleen's health and wellbeing (where conventional care has nothing to offer her)
About Kathleen's husband and our father Jan Lunde
Because of the current situation our father Jan is doing an impressive job taking care of everything at their home and we want to highlight how challenging it has been for Jan that also really needs to get to India for some time to get rest and restoration together with Kathleen.
This type of hammock in Kathlens and Jan's garden is also found at the Ayurvedic hospital in India.
Jan has been making changes in their home environment so that it is safer for Kathleen to move around, he has even himself built a new bathroom and a lot of more things to make life easier in their current situation.

At the same time he taken care of AirBnB rental and things around the property, working and working, unlike what most 70-year old's would be able to do in this situation. We hope the stay in India will help him get some time to not focus on making things work and fixing things, and just get some time to relax.

Kathleens dad Caleb Ginyard was a singer in the group Golden Gate Quartet. The big guy! They look alike we think!
Kathleen never met her dad, but she still listens to his music every day on Youtube and it gives her strength and love!

Yoga has been an important later part of Kathleens (and Jans) life. No longer active as a yoga teacher, Kathleen still takes a little time everyday for some breathing exercises, mantra singing and yoga exercises that suits her current situation.
Doing Yoga in India is something Kathleen is dreaming of doing again.
