Help our lovely Lucy get back on her feet!

On Tuesday Feb 20th, our adventurous Lucy, hit the slopes early with a couple of dear friends. At the start of her first run down the mountain, she hit some bumps awkwardly and heard & felt a loud pop in her right knee. She experienced a sharp pain and was immediately unable to bear any weight on her leg. X-Rays at the hospital confirmed that nothing was broken, but given the symptoms of the injury, she is fairly confident that her ACL is torn.

Friends have been graciously showing up to care for Lucy, picking up groceries, walking and caring for her sweet pup Tui, sharing healing modalities, cleaning her apartment, stacking wood, making meals & spending quality time. It's been almost two weeks into the healing journey and while she is making some progress and able to move & bear a little more weight on her leg each day, it is becoming increasingly apparent that financial support is paramount.

As many of you know, Lucy recently started her own cleaning business and has been supporting herself solo while being a total boss babe. Due to the extent of her injury she is no longer able to continue with her clients and fears losing her new business all together. Without a current means to an income, the stress of paying rent and keeping up with monthly bills is overwhelming, on top of getting the right medical care and physically healing from this injury. Lucy needs our help!

At this time, what Lucy needs the most support with is covering her monthly bills and additional medical expenses. Money from this fundraiser will go directly towards things like rent, groceries, auto loan payments, insurance, phone bill, debt payments, Tui’s dog food, co-payments for doctor visits and other various medical bills. Due to the nature of her injury and unknowns about treatment, she is asking to be set up for 3 months time. Taking care of her financial stress will give her the spaciousness and ease to focus on her physical healing. It could be a long road depending on MRI results and whether or not she will need to take a surgical route.

While this experience has been both painful and humbling I am incredibly grateful to have had such a beautiful response from friends in my circle and it has shown me how impactful each voice and gesture of support can be. It’s reminding me to keep my head up when I’m feeling low about having my whole life turned upside down. I am doing everything in my power to heal my body, mind and soul. I am making an effort towards mapping out my next 3-12 months in a realistic sense in terms of dedication towards healing and creating opportunities to finance my life.
