Help our little Woppy with better vet care.

Hi Everyone,

We took Woppy, to the vet. Feeling really concerned about her health. She had been struggling to eat, had a drooping eye, and a congested, runny nose. We’ve been taking care of our rabbits for years, so we know when something’s wrong. But unfortunately, we were met with a lack of professionalism and care. At our current vet.

When I explained my worries, I was told that as long as she was still eating and pooping, everything was fine. This dismissive response made me feel unheard, especially when I was only trying to prevent things from getting worse. And she was getting worse.

The vet only checked her teeth and eyes, without thoroughly investigating the underlying cause of her symptoms. Even though I expressed how concerned I was, we were sent home with just painkillers and eye ointment, with no further guidance or treatment. I had even sent a photo and video of Woppy before our visit, but they were barely acknowledged, which was very disappointing.

Things took a turn for the worse overnight. Woppy’s eye drooped even more, she ate even less, her nose worsened, and her pooping became irregular. When I called again for help, I was told the only option was a costly nighttime consultation and that nothing could be done beyond the initial visit. I was left feeling helpless.

Desperate for answers, I reached out to an animal hospital in Waalwijk. They immediately recognized the severity of the situation and welcomed us in. After a thorough examination, they discovered a 1 cm abscess in Woppy’s ear, likely caused by an ear infection — something that should have been caught during her initial visit. Her ears weren’t even checked at our own vet, and no basic vital signs were taken, which is basic care.

I’m deeply disappointed in how we were treated, and the neglect shown to our beloved bunny’s health has shaken my trust in their ability to care for our pets.

We still don’t know the exact reason why Woppy her face is paralyzed and we are currently in the investigation of everything. We still don’t have an x-ray or scan. So it’s still guessing.

On thursday next week we will have an appointment in the animal clinic in Utrecht. Hopefully they are able to help Wops.

We have been to different vets right now and the bills are getting higher and higher.

All the tiny bits help to gibe her the best care..

Thank you all so much for reading our story, hopefully we can find the reason why our little fluffball is sick and we hopefully can give her everything that she deserves.

Lots of bunny cuddles.
Woppy, Woezel and family.
