How the count down to the New Year turned into a living nightmare…
My brother and his family came to visit us for Christmas from Germany.
Their little girl Charlotte (2) has been feeling unwell for couple of days, with high temperature and a cough. We thought she may need some antibiotics so decided to get her checked at local A&E on the 31 December, fully expecting to be sent home later in the afternoon and celebrate the start of The New Year together. Instead, our little princess has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Charlotte has been transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, where she has undergone further tests, bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, had her first dose chemotherapy injected into her spinal fluid and had a portacath fitted.
Charlotte has health care insurance in Germany where they live and we are hoping to raise funds to cover medical repatriation and other medical expenses associated with her treatment in London as their insurance will not cover this or the transfer back to Germany.
If you can donate please do, every little helps!
Help us get Charlotte home so she can get the treatment she needs!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts❤️
