Last week we received some devastating news that every pet owner dreads - Our beautiful 8 & a half year old Blue Heeler, Lexi has cancer. How did we get here?

The first week of Jan 2026 we noticed Lexi's left eye was red & very swollen. After two vet visits involving eye tests, antibiotics, steroids, antihistamines - there was no improvement. We assumed the culprit was a simple grass seed or similar, however following blood tests, eye pressure tests & an oral exam, a growth was found. Samples were taken & sadly the results were the worst we could imagine. Cancer.

*UPDATE* Jan 28th 2026:

CT scans of her body confirmed the presence of cancerous tumours - one behind her left eye & the other in her spleen, the size of a fist. Not at all what we expected to hear. Now we wait for biopsy results to determine what specific cancers we are facing & what stages.

We are determined to give our beautiful girl Lexi every fighting chance possible. We want her comfortable & happy while she undergoes various procedures & potential treatments. Unfortunately as you all know, vet bills run very high, which is why we are reaching out for support from all you wonderful people.

All donations will be put towards our current & future vet hospital bills as outlined below:
