Help Our Lady of Perpetual Help Continue Its Mission

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, located in South Ozone Park, NY, has been a proud part of the community since it first opened its doors on September 12, 1927. For almost 100 years, the school has provided a place for children to grow in faith, receive an excellent education, and serve others. In 2012, the school became Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, expanding its mission and continuing to serve students in the Dominican Sisters of Sparkhill tradition.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy focuses on the growth of the whole child—spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically. The school provides a caring environment where each child is seen as an individual with unique needs and talents. The school emphasizes Christian values like love, respect, and kindness, not just through lessons but in daily life. Students engage in service projects that help the needy, such as food drives, and learn to live their faith through actions that benefit others.

In recent years, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy has faced challenges; fewer students are attending, and this has reduced the funding the school needs to stay open and support its mission. However, the mission of the school is still very much alive. The principal, teachers, priests, students, and families are all committed to keeping the academy open and thriving.
