About Us:

The Syro-Malabar Eastern Catholic Church is a Major Archiepiscopal Church in full communion with the Bishop of Rome, the Pope. It traces its origins to St Thomas, the Apostle who is believed to have evangelized India in the 1st century. The Syro-Malabar Church follows the East Syrian liturgical tradition and is one of the 23 Sui Iuris Eastern Catholic Churches. With a rich heritage and vibrant spirituality, it serves as a significant religious and cultural institution for millions of faithful primarily in India but also across the world.

St. Paul’s Church in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth holds a special place in the hearts of the Syro-Malabar Catholic community in Portsmouth. It has been a sanctuary of faith, unity, and solace for generations.

Our Goal:

Join us in our noble endeavor to restore and preserve the rich heritage and sacred sanctuary of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth. Our goal is to raise funds for the purchase and essential repairs of St. Paul’s Church.

Our Lady of the Nativity Syro Malabar Mission is embarking on a vital mission to raise £75,000 between 1 June 2024 and 31st December 2025. This campaign aims not only to address the urgent renovation and repair needs of St. Paul's but also to safeguard its legacy for future generations. If contributions exceed our set goal we will use the surplus amount towards the same cause and suspend the campaign immediately.
