Kym is a light. A unicorn combination of kindness, sass and infectious love that touches every person she meets. We know what you’re thinking, we have bias, but we don’t. Kym is a life source for most of the people in her life and we need you to help us give back to the enigma that is Kym Crothers.

In March this year, Kym didn’t feel like her regular self, her glands were swollen and following her instincts she went to the doctors just to be sure it wasn’t something serious (Glandular Fever again no doubt).
A few days later Kym was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is aggressive and rare, however lucky for us, very treatable. She began CHOP therapy chemo to battle the cancer and despite the regular kick backs that chemo so generously provides, (insert life altering side effects) her body responded well and the cancer cells diminished over time.

Yet Kym continued to suffer from extreme fevers, headaches, mood changes and aversion to light which resulted in her spending more time in hospital than expected, trying to find the answers.
After what seemed like a lifetime of not knowing, the magnificent team at The Austin Hospital managed to discover what was causing Kym’s symptoms. They had found a secondary cancer in the cerebral spinal fluid of Kym’s Central Nervous System. A rare type of CNS Lymphoma. There are only four other cases of this particular cancer recorded in existence which means two things:
1. The doctors that Kym has at her disposal are doing their very best to find the most effective route to recovery. Not only have they devised a plan to rid her of this undiscriminating illness (Plan A), but they have plan’s B, C and D to back it up!
2. Kym is special.
Kym’s partner Josh has been an exemplar of strength and love during this time. He has continued to work in order to keep the rigmarole of life responsibilities at bay, however due to the uncertain journey that they are about to embark upon we are raising money to help support Kym and her partner Josh so that they may have the financial support and freedom to spend time together and concentrate on what is most important in this life.
Despite the struggles, she has managed to deliver that distinctive Kymmy humour throughout the entire ordeal and maintain a positive disposition. Understandably this has been heartbreaking for Josh to witness his partner and the pain she is going through, however he is now ready, in his own words, ‘to pick her up and carry her’ through to the finish line.
Kym is Strong. The conviction and self belief that she has managed to manifest in order to face this challenge is not only staggering, but plain old inspirational.
We are asking people to donate what they can and if they can to support Kym’s Fight. Let’s dig deep and rally behind her !
