Hi my name is Nikki, 5 weeks ago after another hard year due to loosing loved ones we had the opportunity to pick up our gorgeous Rottie pup Kobi, he was 5 months old. The light needed in our lives!Since getting Kobi he’s not had the easiest start in life, he’s had numerous trips to the vet due to self harm from to this day we still do not know, we’ve seen 5 different vets each one saying different things. Last week Kobi caused so much trauma to his genital area there is now a 2cm incision that they cannot stop the bleed! They seem to think it’s something in his brain that’s causing him to chew, or he’s been born with it or an infection that’s not been dealt with in the past. We’ve spent £100’s on antibiotics and pain relief, consultations and the cones of shame. Kobi is a happy, loving gorgeous boy that absolutely deserves the best life he can get. Due the insurance not being activated at the vets and the problem occurring before we took out or own insurance unfortunately we are not covered for any form of treatment. They said he’d need scans, xray, blood tests and no doubt surgery due to where the problem is. Yesterday morning he was back at the vets after a massive bleed and clots, they knew money was an issue and pretty much told us he’d need put to sleep in the near future because the problem will not go away without any of the above which will of course cost thousands, I never thought about a gofund me until a friend mentioned it, i’d never ask anyone for a penny, but we also didn’t expect our 6 month old boy after only 5 weeks of having him ending up in such a sad situation. We are/were prepared to give Kobi over the weekend and make our decision, We really don’t want to give up on Kobi! He’s fine in himself which is making our decision so much harder!! I know it’s just 2 weeks until Christmas which makes this even more heartbreaking for our family, but if any of you can spare anything to help us out give Kobi the life he truly deserves and save another heart ache in our family it would honestly go a long way! At least to get some answers and maybe save our boys life, we have to try!
