Help our kids go to Nature's Classroom!

The 5th-grade students from Berlin Memorial School (BMS) and Boylston Elementary School (BES) have an opportunity to attend Nature’s Classroom from May 9-12, 2023. Nature’s Classroom is a nonprofit outdoor education program that provides residential field trips to students. This is such an amazing opportunity for our children to learn about science and nature in a hands-on environment, all while practicing teamwork and collaboration.

The cost of the program is $400 per child. This includes everything from lodging to food. We would like to have a scholarship bank for children who cannot afford the program. This will be done confidentially with communication from the school. We are looking for people/ businesses to sponsor children so that they don’t miss out on this immersive learning experience.

All money raised after this will help lower the overall cost of the field trip for families, making it more affordable. With 75 families wanting to join Nature’s Classroom, the total amount we need to raise is $32,000. We have a very short amount of time to do this.

Another reason this opportunity is so important for our children is that this is their last year of elementary school. Next year, the Berlin and Boylston classes will join at Tahanto Regional School. At Nature’s Classroom, BMS and BES kids will mix to form groups for fieldwork as well as for meals in the dining hall. This will allow these kids to meet for the first time and form friendships, making the adjustment to middle school a bit easier.

We feel very fortunate that our children can unplug and have this outdoor learning experience. By sponsoring a child, you will give them the opportunity to learn leadership and social and critical thinking skills from the incredible staff at Nature’s Classroom. Every day will be packed with experiential learning and collaboration presented in a fun, student-centered environment.
