The School of Rock Alexandria House Band will be performing at the Vans Warped Tour in Washington, DC, June 14 and 15. The Warped Tour is an iconic music festival that ran from 1995 to 2019. Over the years, it launched the careers of artists like Avenged Sevenfold, Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Paramore. The tour is back to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with shows in Long Beach, Orlando, and Washington, DC.

School of Rock takes a unique, performance-based approach to music instruction that combines one-on-one lessons with group practices. Students not only grow as musicians, but they build their confidence and learn teamwork by performing together as a band. The House Band represents the best of School of Rock Alexandria's musicians, whose talent is matched by their leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm. They are ambassadors for School of Rock in the community, where they perform at local events.

These kids have worked so hard and have really grown together as a band. In June, they will have the opportunity of a lifetime, playing to a sold-out crowd of 40,000 people. The House Band parents are raising money to charter transportation to and from the Festival Grounds at RFK. With a big event like this, we want to make sure the kids and their instruments arrive together, safely, and on time for their sets.

The kids will be playing two sets each day, so we are planning for full days at the festival. The cost of renting a bus that holds 11 kids with instruments, 10 parents, and 2 crew members for two days is about $3,000, not including parking fees or tips. The funds we raise will be put toward the cost of transportation.

Please note that this is not a fundraiser for School of Rock Alexandria. School of Rock generously funded the event costs for the families, but we are seeking the community's help with transportation.
