My 28 year old grand daughter Kali Tubbs who is in the photo with her mother Dawn was just diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She began to rapidly lose huge amounts of weight, run a constant fever, and lost all of her formerly amazing energy. A friend forced her to go to the Emergency Room on a day that she was looking and feeling especially bad which was just before Thanksgiving.
Porter Hospital in Vermont immediately sent her to a larger hospital in Burlington Vermont because she was so very sick and that is where she was diagnosed. She is too ill to continue working and consequently had to give up her apartment and go live with her mother in New York. Unfortunately, right now her Medicaid is through the state of Vermont so she is forced to travel from New York to Burlington for her aggressive treatments which is a 5 hour drive each way.
These funds will be used for travel and lodging expenses and uncovered medical bills. We are asking for prayers for healing as Kali has alot ahead of her. Most of her teeth are going to be removed to prevent further infection, her eggs removed and saved, chemo and radiation, blood transfusions and more. While all of this is daunting and horrible to endure, doctors have informed us that the survival rate for Hodgkin's is 79%.
Kali has always been one of my strongest grandchildren. She was born a fighter and with the help of friends and family, will win this battle. Even now her attitude is "I'm all over this like a kid on chocolate cake".
Thank you for you help, I will keep you updated.
God bless you.
