Help Our Kaitlyn fight a rare and aggressive cancer at 31

Donation protected
Our beautiful Kaitlyn is 31 years old. She's a wife, a sister, a daughter, an auntie, a friend — and right now, she's fighting for her life.

A few months ago, Kaitlyn started getting migraines. Then she couldn't shift any weight no matter what she did. Then came the bloating and the pain in her stomach — the kind of pain that wouldn't go away. Within the space of just a few months, our world has been turned upside down.

Kaitlyn has been diagnosed with Stage 4 aggressive cancer.

It's a cancer so rare that only 1% of cancer patients ever face it. Specialists around the world have never seen anything quite like it. Her oncologists at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney are currently consulting with cancer experts in Germany and across the globe to try to piece together a treatment plan for her.

The cancer covers her entire abdomen in a painful tumour. It has spread to her lung, possibly her breast, into her lymph nodes, and a small spot has been found on her brain. She's already had multiple biopsies, fluid drained from her abdomen, iron infusions, and treatment for blood clots in her lungs.

She's just 31 years old.

Who Kaitlyn is:

If you know Kaitlyn, you know she has a heart of gold. She's the kind of person who's always worried about everyone else first. The friend who checks in on you. The sister who remembers everything. The wife who lights up Jordy's whole world.

She's been married to her husband Jordy for 6 years — they're the kind of couple that gives you faith in love. They've travelled the world together, chasing new places and new memories. She loves animals more than anything — she has a little cat named Indy who she can't bear being away from while she's in hospital.

She's a website designer and digital marketer — talented, hardworking, building her career. She had so many plans. So many places still to see. So many years ahead.

And now she's fighting just to come home.

Why we need your help:

Both Kaitlyn and Jordy are now unable to work. Kaitlyn is in hospital fighting for her life, and Jordy is by her side every step of the way — exactly where he needs to be.

The road ahead will likely involve aggressive chemotherapy and radiation, and the doctors are still working out exactly what that will look like. Treatment will mean constant trips between Albion Park and Sydney, weeks or months in hospital, and a long recovery.

Every dollar raised will go directly to:

Living costs and lost income for Kaitlyn and Jordy while they focus on her recovery
Travel costs between Albion Park and Sydney for ongoing treatment
Quality nutrition to support her body through aggressive treatment
Complementary therapies to help her body heal alongside medical treatment

How you can help:

If you're able to donate — anything at all — it goes straight to easing the pressure on this young couple so they can focus on what matters: getting Kaitlyn well.

If you can't donate, please share this page. Share it with your family, your friends, your workplace, your community. Every share could reach someone who can help.

And please — keep Kaitlyn in your thoughts and prayers. She's a fighter. She has the love of her husband, her family, her friends, and her little cat Indy waiting for her at home.

She has so much life left to live.

Let's help her live it.

Updates will be posted regularly so you can follow Kaitlyn's journey. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for any support you can offer her and Jordy in this incredibly hard time.
