Hello everyone,
When we first heard about the coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading in Wuhan, China it seemed so far away. As the days and weeks passed, the coronavirus made its way all over the world and into the United States.
JK Taekwondo is a school that teaches mental discipline and physical fitness through traditional Korean martial arts. Unfortunately, we had to close our gym on March 16, 2020. This was pursuant to city order and to secure the safety of our school members, staff and their family to reduce the spread of the corona virus in our community. Due to our gym closure, we decided to give everyone contract extensions until we can open again. Unlike other businesses, our only source of income is from our members. Many of whom have already discontinued their memberships. We are uncertain as to when we can open our doors and how likely the remaining members will return with the ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
We have been open since 1991. We have been going strong, but we are now faced with colossal financial insolvency . We are seeking donations to maintain our position in the Glendale, Burbank and Los Angeles basin. We have been and are a pillar in the community. The parents and children of these neighborhoods rely on us for discipline and self-development. It would be devastating if we cannot continue to serve our community because of the pandemic.
We understand that everyone is going through financial hardship during these times. With so much uncertainty in the air, we are all staring into the abyss. We are all in this together. If we fight together, we can stay alive and thrive. We ask with humility for assistance. Any donation amount will help.
Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Stay safe.
Thank you.
