One of our beloved Coven-mates, Kimberly Kaye, is in the throws of a complicated health crisis, and needs our help. While Kim’s spent the last decade making a comeback-for-the-ages from Death’s door (no thanks to a wrong autoimmune misdiagnosis) to accomplish becoming an award-winning director, performer, functional medicine practitioner, disability advocate, grant writing wizard, & co-founder of an award-winning tour company & storytelling podcast, to exhaustively name a few of the 50/11 jobs required to survive in today’s economy.

In September of this year, my bestie went from working full-time, healing the gut biomes of her community (myself included–she’s REALLY good at this), preparing to hit the road with her bandmates in Loose Cattle, and planning a fall Coven show to what is now turning into a multi-month battle for access to care, doctors who actually listen to patients, and advocating for her health, while sustaining the kind of pain that can change a person’s personality when prolonged.

Kimberly is scheduled for a laparoscopic surgery on Dec 5th, and is looking at 4-6 weeks out of work, with her being a 1099 contractor, this is a brutal burden for a party of one. Coupled with the insurance rate hike coming for all of us on January 1st, she’ll be paying $10,520.00 before insurance will start kicking in it’s 75% “cost sharing.”

Many of you who love her have asked how you can help, and since she feels like asking for help is too much to do in these trying times, I’ll ask for her. Help me give her the gift of being able to focus on healing so she can get back to living her best life, concaving with the masses, and not stress out about covering all of this, or (more realistically) attempting to hustle from the couch before the stitches come out.
