Hi Family and Friends,

 

With a sad and heavy heart, I inform you that our dear Aunt Haru fainted at home. She was rushed to Providence Little Company of Mary  Hospital where we were informed that she had a sudden stroke. Tests showed that she had Moyamoya and she immediately underwent brain surgery. Moyamoya is a rare genetic disease that generally attacks the Japanese race and causes the arteries that supply blood to the brain to narrow, obstructing blood flow to the brain.

While she was already in recovery, Aunt Haru suffered another stroke but this time it was much more severe.  She was in the Intensive Care department, unconscious and on artificial respiration. Right now she is in the Comfort room, where Haru is still unconscious but breathing on her own. The doctors and nurses are doing their best to give her the support and care she needs to recover. Family and friends are praying fervently for a miracle. You can imagine that in these critical circumstances, both the Oshiro Family and the Hirai Family are completely devastated.

In these difficult times we ask that you include Aunt Haru and her Family in her prayers and thoughts.

I am asking for donations to help cover the growing hospital expenses not covered by health insurance. I am certain that our Uncle Chicho, Keiji and Aimi will greatly appreciate your monetary contributions.

I will do my best to keep you informed about our beloved Aunt Haru's condition.

Hola familia y amigos,

 

Con el corazón triste y apesadumbrado, les comunico que nuestra querida Tía Haru sufrió un desmayo en casa.  Fue llevada de inmediato al Hospital Little Mary Company donde nos informaron que ella tuvo un derrame cerebral repentino.  Los análisis demostraron que tenIa Moyamoya y se le sometió inmediatamente a una cirugIa cerebral.   Moyamoya es una enfermedad genética rara que ataca generalmente a la raza japonesa y hace que las arterias que irrigan sangre al cerebro se adelgacen obstruyendo el flujo de la sangre al cerebro. 
 
Mientras ya estaba en recuperación, Tía Haru sufrió otro derrame cerebral pero esta vez fue masivo.  
Estuvo en el departamento de Cuidados Intensivos, inconsciente y con respiración artificial.  En estos momentos se encuentra en el cuarto de Comodidad, donde Haru sigue incosciente pero respirando por si misma.   Los médicos y las enfermeras están haciendo todo lo posible para brindarle el poyo y las atenciones que necesita para recuperarse.  La familia y amigos estamos orando fervientemente por un milagro.   Ya se imaginarán que en estas circunstancias tan crIticas, tanto la Familia Oshiro como la Familia Hirai estamos completamente desvastados.
 
En estos momentos difíciles les suplicamos que incluyan a Tía Haru y la Familia en sus oraciones y pensamientos.  
 
Estoy pidiendo donaciones para ayudar a cubrir los crecientes gastos hospitalarios no cubiertos por el seguro médico.  Tengo la certeza que nuestro Tío Chicho, Keiji y Aimi apreciarán infinitamente sus contribuciones monetarias.
