Help our Grandpa battle Cancer

As we all know, life can be difficult, especially when hard times hit us. Almost every person in the world may agree to the fact that they have a friend or relative who has battle through some deadly illness. In this occasion, our family has been hit with terrible news…
Last March, our dear Grandpa, Pedro Guevara, was diagnosed not only with Colon Cancer, but also with two Aneurisms. Since being diagnosed, our Grandpa has endured three major surgeries to threat the aneurisms and enable him to the cancer treatment.
Perform these surgeries was necessary to start the battle against cancer. Grandpa Pedro has been fighting hard to recover ever since. It is not an easy fight, but we are doing the necessary to heal him so Pedro can beat this terrible disease. Grandpa has two beautiful grandsons that need their grandpa in their lives. We all know the importance of the role of grandfathers in our lives. We just cannot imagine growing up without a grandpa, neither Pedro’s grandsons.
After performing extensive diagnostic tests recently, a targeted plan has been put together. Estimates for four months are around $65,000-$95,000. In order to begin Grandpa’s treatment (radiation and chemotherapy) is necessary at least $25,000. For all his family and friends who love Grandpa and still need him around, this news is devastating for us due to the fact that we do not have that amount of money. Despite the fact that his cancer is in “Stage Three,” Pedro still strong and his immune system has not yet been compromised. Grandpa Pedro can still beat this terrible disease if the proper treatment is provided.
During this difficult time for our family, we are reaching out to friends and people for help. We are asking you to donate any amount you can and share this message with everyone you know to help us to get the proper help; sometimes help comes from places that we do not even expect or imagine.
We understand that money do not grow in trees, but anything will help to begin with his treatment-plan quickly. We, the whole family, and friends of Grandpa are deeply grateful for you, our friends, and our extended family who will join in supporting our beloved Grandfather to battle this terrible disease.

Como todos sabemos, la vida puede ser complicada, especialmente cuando enfrentamos momentos difíciles. Una gran mayoría de personas alrededor del mundo pueden afirmar haber tenido algún familiar o amigo que haya sufrido una enfermedad grave. En esta ocasión nuestra familia ha sido afectada y estamos devastados…
El pasado mes de marzo nuestro querido Pedro ha sido diagnosticado con cáncer de colon, así como también con dos aneurismas. Desde que fue informado su diagnóstico, Pedro ha pasado por tres cirugías. Dos de ellas para tratar las aneurismas y una colostomía para mejorar su condición y poder permitirle una evaluación para el tratamiento del cáncer. Estas operaciones fueron necesarias para establecer un plan de acción el cual ira acompañado de radiación y quimioterapia. Desde entonces, el Pedro, (el “abuelo”) ha estado peleado esta dura batalla contra el cáncer.
Sabemos que no es fácil, pero estamos haciendo todo lo posible para que mejore pronto y supere esta terrible enfermedad. El abuelo tiene dos nietos hermosos que lo necesitan en su vida. Nosotros no podemos imaginar creciendo sin el abuelo. Asimismo, asumimos que sus nietos también quieren tener la experiencia hermosa de crecer y compartir con su “abuelo.”
Después de varias consultas médicas, exámenes, y demás pruebas para conocer el estado del cáncer, tenemos un presupuesto para los próximos 4 meses de tratamiento. Dicho estimado es la cantidad de US$65,000 – US$95,000. Para comenzar el tratamiento lo más rápido y pronto posible son necesarios US$25,000. Para nosotros, la familia y amigos de Pedro esto es una pésima noticia porque no contamos con dicha cantidad de dinero.
A pesar que el cáncer del abuelo es “Estadio III,” el abuelo se encuentra fuerte y optimista pues su sistema inmunológico no ha sido afectado aún. Sabemos que él puede vencer el cáncer si es sometido al tratamiento adecuado lo antes posible y así nos lo han hecho saber los diferentes doctores que le han atendido. En consecuencia, tratar la enfermedad rápido es clave y nuestra mayor preocupación.
Es por eso que en este difícil momento apelamos a la bondad de nuestros amigos y familias buscando ayuda. En nombre de Pedro, estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a costear su tratamiento y operaciones necesarias en esta batalla contra el cáncer de colon. Asimismo, esperamos nos ayuden a compartir este mensaje con todas las personas que conocen pues sabemos que a veces la ayuda llega del lugar que menos esperado.
Nosotros entendemos que el dinero no crece en los árboles y que la situación está muy crítica. Sin embargo, cualquier ayuda es bienvenida y servirá para comenzar el tratamiento de nuestro abuelo.
