Dear friends and family,
This is our rock, our love, our Daddy.
In November of 2023, our dad was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer in the liver. He had one chemo session that sent him straight to the hospital for four months. Life has been very different since.
If you know our Dad, you probably fell in love with him from the start and he likely made you laugh before gifting you something off his back. That's who he is, a giver, always willing to give up his favorite jerseys, jackets and even his time to help mentor others in ways that change their lives. He doesn't do this to receive something in return, he does it because he cares selflessly, and likes to see others happy. He has dedicated his entire life to us. He is our mentor, best friend, and an amazing role model who lives by example. At work, he dedicated 15 years of his professional life to advocating for youth and helped save the lives of many at-risk youth throughout L.A. county. He saw superheroes in those who most had given up on. And so now he too is in need of help for his medical needs and most importantly, he needs your prayers.
Our dad taught us early the importance of believing and in our faith in God. That is what we’re leaning on together as a family as he continues to put his life in God's hands.
Thank you to the many who have already provided your support without being asked. We are truly grateful and amazed at the unconditional support we have received from loved ones as well as complete strangers.
All donations will go directly to our parents, Rene
and Gabby Avelar for the benefit of our Dad’s cancer fight.
With love,
