Help our future SWAT Operator Colt and his family
Donation protected
Hi there! Lake County SWAT Team members are raising money for the Peterson family. Our teammate Rob and his wife Dana have been blessed with two precious boys. However, their family is now walking through a storm with their oldest son Colt. Colt is a 5-year-old energetic and adventurous boy. He was born with a blocked ileocecal valve, a vital portion of the intestinal tract. Colt underwent surgery when he was just days old. Because of this specific portion removed from his intestines, Colt has suffered from malabsorption, meaning he could not absorb nutrients adequately. Colt required intravenous nutrition, which must go through a central line because it can damage the smaller vessels in the body. Unfortunately, his second central line was accidentally dislodged during cleaning requiring Colt to undergo another procedure requiring anesthesia to place his last central line, known as a Broviac. The surgeon cut down his external jugular vein during the procedure. Colt has since developed an extensive network of collateral circulation, and upon investigation, it was found he has blockages on both sides of his body. On 7/26/22, Interventional radiology attempted to open some of these major vessels but was unsuccessful. Colt’s case is being sent to doctors in Boston and Colorado for evaluation. Colt’s blockages must be cleared as he is only growing, and his condition is progressively worsening. The family faces unknown medical costs for these circumstances and appreciates any help. Please consider donating any amount you feel led to give to this sweet family. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and may God bless you in a mighty way!
