Help our friend Trevor beat cancer!

On January 10th, Trevor was diagnosed with Cancer, news that completely devastated this family. Trevor has been a hard working heavy duty mechanic for over twenty years. He has an obsessive passion for the outdoors, fishing and sports. His partner Kelly, is a healthcare worker who has dedicated the last twenty years to helping others in need. Kelly has taken a leave to care for Trevor and their children at this time as he is no longer mobile. No matter what this family is dealt with, they have always remained positive, smiling and bringing humor to even the worst of situations.
In late November 2021, Trevor seeked medical attention after experiencing an immense amount of pain in his right knee that ended up crippling him. Trevor was sent to VGH for CT scans and MRI's over the next few weeks, where they identified a large tumor on his femur, a tumor so large it had broken his femur. On December 20th a bone marrow biopsy was done, which confirmed Trevor had a form of bone cancer. The team of oncologists all agreed that he would require surgery as soon as possible, before any treatments could be considered. Trevor underwent Distal Femoral Replacement Surgery on January 27th. The team successfully removed the large tumor and gave us the results from the biopsy, Osteosarcoma. Trevor will undergo chemotherapy once his leg has healed, not the news we wanted to hear but just another step to a healthy life. The next year will be financially, mentally and physically challenging for this family. The fear of the unknown, on top of financial stress, is a lot for any family to handle. Our hope is to raise enough money to help alleviate the financial stress that comes with a Cancer diagnosis.
