We have reopened and increased the fund-raising goals for Rusty’s GoFundMe page to help offset new medical expenses. This morning Rusty went through another major surgery; amputation of the lower right leg, below the knee. Rusty is recovering in the hospital for the next few days, and intense occupational & physical therapies will follow. This is a new normal for Rusty with many changes, and new expenses, amongst them is the requirement of a new mode of transportation to therapy and ongoing dialysis (hired ambulance service). As you can imagine, the financial strain of medical treatments has become increasingly burdensome for him. Many of you have contributed, which has made a real difference by alleviating this stress, allowing Rusty to focus on his recovery without worrying about the financial aspect. Once again, I’m reaching out to you on Rusty’s behalf to seek your support. Your generosity will not only provide financial assistance but also serve as a powerful reminder of the love and compassion that surrounds him.

It’s been over a year and Rusty's journey has been one of resilience, facing both good days and bad days with unwavering determination. Despite the difficulties, his warrior spirit remains unyielding, lifted by the love and support from you all. He appreciated the love which came in every form: visits, prayers, messages, and greeting cards. Our dear friend Rusty has recently encountered serious health issues which required emergency surgery and spent several harrowing days in the ICU. Thanks to the amazing care of nurses and doctors he may be going home soon, but not without challenges ahead. Despite the long road of rehab, Rusty is determined to recover and get back to living his best life.

Rusty wants you to know that he is overwhelmed with the love, texts, and supporting messages from everyone, and will reach out when he is well enough to do so. Until then, we will use this space to provide updates on his progress.

The road to recovery is not going to be easy, and it will require a lot of financial support.

Rusty has started rehabilitation, which includes physical therapy and regular dialysis. These treatments are essential for Rusty's recovery but they come with high costs. The expenses related to Rusty's treatment and rehabilitation are mounting, and we want to make sure that Rusty can focus on getting better without worrying about how he will pay for it.

That's why we are launching this fundraising campaign to help Rusty with the financial burden of his treatment and rehabilitation.
