Help Our Friend Paul Williams Get Back to England

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Vicky Sarro and I am friends with Paul Williams. Many of you will know Paul from his RCA days in London and New York including his work with Eurythmics, Dirty Dancing soundtrack, Bruce Hornsby & The Range (a hit in England before America), Elvis Presley and countless reissues including the Grammy-nominated Frank Sinatra, The Song is You. Paul is a kind and compassionate person who always tried to help anyone he could. He has had some VERY difficult times over these past 7 years and needs help from our community. In November 2015 in Boston, Paul's car was rear-ended by a vehicle going 65mph. He sustained a severe concussion, injured his shoulder, developed rotator cuff syndrome, suffered memory loss and severely injured his back. He was diagnosed with PTSD. In July 2019 in Hyannis, MA, Paul was the victim of an unprovoked attack in a Starbucks by a mentally unwell homeless man. The attack was so severe, he was rendered unconscious, lost 10 teeth, had two black eyes and reinjured his back and shoulder after years of physical therapy and chiropractor work from the car accident. He was rediagnosed with PTSD and once again the medical premiums and bills started to climb. The man who attacked Paul was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and his behavior was so erratic he was denied parole and spent a total of 3 years behind bars. In August 2020, Paul had a heart attack resulting in two stents being put in the heart and is currently on 8 heart medications. By November 2020 Paul had literally run out of money and was unable to pay the rest of his medical bills or, in fact, any bills at all. He became so despondent he went to a very, very dark mental place (as you can imagine) and made an unsuccessful attempt on his life. He has had 2 separate short-term stints in a psychiatric facility. He tried to pull himself up and reached out for help from his community. The Duffy Health Center in Hyannis, MA has been a miracle because it offers doctors and psychological health for people who are suffering from things such as severe depression but have no money. They have helped him a great deal to try to keep him going. In March of 2021, he developed an intestinal disorder that causes him to be mostly housebound. He is now on medication although it is still unresolved. He currently receives Meals on Wheels, Medicare, MassHealth, and SNAP. He is in the middle of having his green card renewed and so is unable to apply for social security. It has been a very, very tough road. Some of you also know the unfair treatment Paul suffered from his employer years ago which turned out to be completely unfounded but has set him back for years. Any care he now receives is paid for by the state of Massachusetts and Medicare. He no longer owns or can drive a car. Paul's goal is to return to England. He has no money coming in, he has no hot water and his cell phone is paid for by a charity. He has one asset and that is his home. I am raising this money so Paul can get his house (which has fallen into disrepair), fixed up and packed up. He needs a storage unit, a dumpster, and to hire someone to help him pack. So much work needs to be done on the house. Whatever money he makes on the sale of the house will pay some debt and give him enough to get home to England for what I truly hope is a fresh start. Let's remember, healthcare is free there and he is in the process of building up a support network there. I know everyone is struggling. Any help you can give, however small, believe me, will go a long way. Thanks for reading this. I truly hope we can come together and give him a helping hand.
