Help Our Friend Cosme

Our friend and neighbor Cosme is on a long and complicated health journey.  He has been ill since March.  As many of you know Cosme those first weeks, he worked through his illness and pain.   At a point the pain and illness was too great, he ended up in the hospital for 18 days.  During that time, Cosme had several medical emergencies.  Since his release, he has been visiting many, many doctors working to address his health.  

Because of this, he is not able to work, be creative or be at his gallery.  If you know him, those are three of his favorite things.  

He is the sole provider for his family and his business.   

He is the imagination and creator of many of the events and programs you see in our City.

2. Dia de los Muertos Festival was created by him over 16 years ago
3. Artnival
4. Division 9 Gallery Studio for artists to learn their craft 
5. Frida Festival
6. Riverside Halloween Festival

He also has been and is a strong voice for artists, championing opportunities, installations, and exhibitions for them, whether they are just starting out or have had great success.  

When you think of something that is really cool in Riverside, most likely Cosme has been involved in some way or another.  If you can donate any amount in that spirit of giving that he has done for so many years in our community, he and we would be grateful.
