Dear Friends and Family,
We thank each and every one of you for all the support, love and prayers for Carol and her Family. On October 17th 2020, Carol was in a serious accident. She was injured in a golf cart accident in which she was life flighted due to traumatic brain injury. Following 2 months of hospitalization, surgery, intensive therapy, and partial rehabilitation, she returned home. Her journey for full recovery and healing now has begun at her home. She is a miracle in process according to the doctors. She is not “one in a hundred,” not “one in a thousand,” but is “one in ten thousand” according to her doctors! She has been blessed to have had family and dear friends to be there for her. We thank God for the miracle of her survival and ongoing recovery.
As a result of her needs, her Niece, Cherie (who is like a daughter) and her husband both came immediately to assist in her care and rehabilitation. They recently returned to Missouri.
Family and friends have expressed concern at the costs of equipment, medical expenses and continuing care and assistance for Carol she heals from this life changing event.
She has been blessed to have had family and dear friends to be there for her. She moved to Florida in 2018 and has been enjoying life in The Villages. She became an organizer right away, enjoying and coordinating bowling, water volleyball and social events. She has many dear friends in Florida that are like family to her. She is an amazing person who has touched many through the years. She retired from Pittsburg Glass Works (PGW) in 2018. She was also an active member at Crossroads Church in Mansfield, OH in which she ministered to many. She travelled internationally on mission teams as well.
Your contributions would help cover the medical care and living expenses as Carol recovers from this tragic accident. She is currently receiving physical and occupational therapy at home with the goal of independence moving forward. Friends are currently assisting with the therapy as volunteers. Friends and family have been helping with donations of some medical equipment and their time. Given the seriousness and length of care, which will continue for months, the family anticipates large medical co-pay, pharmaceutical, and other expenses.
Thank you so much for any monetary donation or volunteering of your time you can make for our dear friend and neighbor, Carol. Those of you who know Carol know what a positive and wonderful person she is. We all love her and are doing everything we can to support her. We are currently helping with physical therapy, meals, and helping her as general caregivers. If you are interested in visiting and/or helping with Carol in her rehab, please contact Carol directly via phone/text or email.
Thank you and virtual hugs to all of you for caring so much! Your support has and will continue to make all the difference!!
