Hello, this is Mike and Jen.

For the past few years Betty has been dealing with a debilitating disease, that has now gotten much worse. She doesn’t let most know that she is in constant pain. Betty has Functional Neurological Disorder. I have provided a link for more information on her condition.

On Saturday, April 8th, friends and family had not heard from her since Thursday. This was unusual as we all at least text each other daily. She did not answer any calls or her door. Jen went over and found her on the floor, obviously injured and not very coherent. Emergency services were called and she was taken to the Hospital. Betty was admitted and is currently being treated for cardiac complications, dehydration, bilateral shoulder dislocations and fractures. The doctors believe she may have had a seizure that caused her to collapse and fall. They are doing more testing for this. She may require surgery on both shoulders, but has to be stable in the other areas before this can be determined. We will post updates her condition on here as we receive them.

Betty has insurance, but she has to pay deductibles, co-pays, and a monthly premium, not to mention other utility bills. She has already been struggling to make ends meet due to her medical condition. She has a very long recovery ahead and with no means of income will need as much help as she can get during this time. Betty is the first to give of herself to help others, even when it causes her to do without. She is an amazing artist that has rarely taken money for her work and when she did it was very under valued. Her work hangs in many Army posts across the USA and many Army family homes! Betty is the most humble, giving, talented person we’ve ever had the pleasure of calling family and friend.
