Help Our Favorite Wild Man Get Back on His Feet (Literally!)

To know my dad Rocky, is to know someone larger than life. With him, you’ve probably laughed until you cried, caught a fish you swore was 'this big', or found yourself deep in the Alaskan backcountry wondering how he managed to make moose gravy that tastes like five-star cuisine.
For years, my dad lived a life of rugged adventure—guiding visitors through the wilds of Alaska, sharing his deep knowledge of hunting, fishing, and survival in some of the most remote corners of the world. He gave people unforgettable experiences, always with a steady hand, quick-witted joke, and an unmatched love for the great outdoors.
Rocky is truly a living legend—the kind of dad that picks you up from high school in his tricked-out Cadillac, incense burning and reggae music blasting. The kind of goof that wears wigs to your volleyball games to make sure you see him in the stands cheering for you, the kind of father that threatens the boys you like while wearing wolf fur and a bear tooth gold chain necklace. The kind of guide who could track a caribou on a windy day, start a fire with 3 pieces of bread and some chapstick, and the kind of man who has provided for his family for most of his life.
Currently, Rocky and his loving wife Sharon, are facing a new kind of wilderness. After complications with diabetes, he recently underwent a major amputation of his left leg, under the knee. It’s been tough, but true to form, he’s cracking jokes with the nurses and asking his visitors to “Go find his leg.”
And even though his spirit remains as strong as ever, the financial burden of his procedure and the after-care is overwhelming.
We’re raising funds to help Rocky with medical costs, post-surgery care, physical therapy, and a solid prosthetic so he can get back to doing what he loves—whether it’s tying a fly, telling stories by the fire, or simply getting back outside. Every bit helps, and Rocky promises he’ll put you in his third book if you help out. JUST KIDDING. (or am I?)
Let’s help this legendary guide take the next steps (ha)—on a new leg and with that same old spark. Every donation, no matter the size, helps! If financially contributing doesn’t work for you, no problem at all. Rocky is a praying man who has put his faith in the Lord during this time, so I know prayers, texts, emails, and calls of encouragement have lifted him up more than anything else. Emotional support is a priceless contribution, and I want to thank everyone who has reached out so far. Here is his number if you want to reach out in any way #916-717-8280
