Help Our Family with the loss of Steve Evenson Jr

Donation protected
We had to say goodbye to Steve Evenson Jr. on May 8th, just one day shy of mothers day and two days shy of his wife's birthday (Dina Evenson).

For those of you that don't know him, Steve was the father of three girls, Sabrina, Kristina, and myself (Jennifer). To us, he was and still is, Superman.

Unfortunately, we lost Kristina in 2018 to a terminal brain tumor that she fought for seven years when she was only given six months to live. I find comfort in knowing they are together again and watching over the rest of our family.

He was one of the most creative and passionate people I have known. Making beauty from nothing more than hunks of metals, old car parts, wood, or anything he could get his hands on. He would make up his own words to better describe things; we called them Steve-isms. With him in the room, there was never a dull moment.

He loved working on cars, customizing every little detail he was able, from metal fabrication and paint to using old denim to make-shift the interior. He didn't need all the money and fancy things to find a way to create beauty. There was never a moment he didn't have a project going on to keep his mind and hands busy.

I am so lucky to have called him my father. He didn't take part in bringing me into this world, but if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be half the woman I am today. He didn't have to love me, he didn't have to take me in as his own, but he did. He earned the right for me to call him dad. It takes a special person to step up to the plate and raise someone else's child, but not once did he complain or hesitate. Every night before bed, when I was little, he would balance me on his arms and fly me to bed while making airplane noises. He taught me how to maintain my car before I got my license, built my sisters and me a tree fort in the backyard, and pushed us to grow and achieve great things.

He worked hard for his family and was constantly building new things to improve the house or at work as a plumber to support his three daughters and wife. But unfortunately, he did not plan to leave this Earth Plane so soon. So with that, we ask for your help.

The money donated here will go to my mother and his wife, Dina, to give her time to grieve the loss of her best friend and the man she has been married to for 27 years. Give her time to sort through his belongings rather than selling to stay afloat. This will also allow us to celebrate him the way he would want, with a gathering with all of his loved ones, family and friends. So that we may celebrate his life and swap stories, laugh, play games, and remember how many lives he touched.

We thank you for any amount you can contribute to his celebration of life and to preserving his family and the things he worked so hard to build.
