Help our Family with Funeral and other expenses

Hello,
My name is Natalie. I am raising funds to help our family (specifically my mother) cover the costs incurred in this tragic life event.

My father's name was Jorge Felix Contreras. He was an essential worker with underlying health conditions. Working full-time as a truck driver, he had managed to steer clear from Covid-19 all of 2020 and 2021. In the first few days of 2022 however, he tested positive. He had quarantined for ten days and waited a few days after that before returning to work on January 15th. Unfortunately, on the road he started feeling worse. He didn't know it at the time but by then he had already started developing pneumonia in his lungs. He completed his drop-off and pulled into a hospital in Houston, Texas. This would be his final destination. His condition worsened quickly. My mother and I along with two of my sisters flew out to try and be by his side. But, given that he was a Covid patient, it took a while before we were able to visit. By the time we were granted visiting rights, my dad had already been intubated. He was a kidney transplant recipient so we knew that this fight would be an uphill battle for him. Still, we remained hopeful. He seemed to have been holding steady for about a week and then his body grew tired. Slowly, his organs began to shut down.

My dad was a fighter. He would always say that it was his mindset that often tricked his body into being stronger than it was. He fought until the very end. He passed away on February 9th, 2022.

We are asking for your help with costs for cremation services, transportation, a memorial, hospital bill, travel costs to Houston, and lastly to help my mom pay off some of my father's recurring expenses.

My dad was such a lively person. He never went unnoticed when he entered a room. He was always ready to share jokes. He was a performer - singing was his favorite thing in the world. We both shared that love of singing. He always said he knew over 1,000 songs. If you ever heard him sing, you know this sounds about right. He created a beautiful family. He gave our mom a lovely home. And, he brought so much joy to his grandchildren. We hope that you will consider helping us raise these funds to help our family be able to honor him as best we can.

**As a token of gratitude, I will personally be mailing a copy of his CD to anyone who donates and wishes to receive one. It would be a great way to honor his memory since I know he intended for that music to be shared with the world.

The fundraiser is in my mother's name since the funds will go to her. However, the fundraiser was published by their daughter.
