Help Our Family with Dad’s Medical Expenses

I have no gauge for how we are doing since our Dad passed. We had the memorial service. Helping Mom, we have found countless random trinkets and treasures in Dad's things.

Before now, I hadn't much considered the things left behind. It is strange the things we hold onto, beyond pictures and clothes, there are also tiny odds and ends. These things that remain, reminders of the person who once filled our time, and since their passing, we find time, like possessions, has weight.

No preparation, no matter how much time, can prepare us for the loss of someone who mattered in every way. It is such an odd sensation to feel untethered. This feeling is unexpected from a person of faith.
I believe there is life after this mortal experience. I have faith we will all be together again. Yet grief still takes what is due; there is an odd discoloring of living, joy is not as bright, laughter is a bit hollow, and hugs have altered in their meaning.
Grief is a process. We have no choice but to experience it; there is no dodging our loss it is something we must work through one day at a time.
I am keeping our original post here for those who didn't know our Dad.
... we are reaching out this Christmas season for help paying for medical bills for our Dad.
The man who tossed us over his head, started water fights, and served in the armed forces was given a heavy blow the day before Thanksgiving.
It was cancer. He took it on and planned on fighting to beat it, but he didn't get the chance. Days before Christmas, we learned he will not be joining us in the coming year.
Our Dad is a wonderful husband and father. He and our mom have been together 56 years, they have been through military service, college, and raising 5 children. They have been devoted grandparents and great-grandparents.
Our father served honorably in the military, the church, and the community. He loved animals and children. He worked in healthcare the majority of his life, helping people, never once imagining he would one day require so much care...

Many people have asked how they can help. Please share this, consider donating. Since his passing was quick, we have a lot to help Mom with, and so we ask again for help with Dad's medical bills.

Anything will help. We are so grateful for all those who have helped. It has been a source of comfort and joy for our Mom to know so many people care. Thank you.
