Help Us Provide Essential Health Care for J.D. !

Introduction:

Hello everyone, we are reaching out for your support to help improve the quality of life J.D who has been facing significant medical challenges and his family/caregivers who have been facing financial strife due to these challenges.

Background and Current Challenges:

J.D. had an aneurysm at 29 Years old in 2002, which has caused him to be bedridden and a quadriplegic since then. He was hospitalized twice in the last two years. In addition, our family has experienced the loss of three loved ones in the same period. These events have required J.D.'s primary caregivers/family, to spend considerable time away from work, resulting in a loss of income.

In the last three years, a severe winter storm caused a power outage, which led to J.D. developing a significant bed wound that has been difficult to fully rehabilitate. This highlighted the need for a better bed and mattress to ensure his comfort and prevent further issues. Despite our efforts, we have been unable to secure funding for a new bed through Medicaid and Medicare over the past three to five years. In addition, we have suffered significant loss of income due to needing to be present as much as possible to support and advocate for J.D. through these hospitalizations

Why This Matters

J.D.'s current bed, manufactured in 2007, is no longer adequate for his needs. A new bed and mattress will provide the necessary comfort and help prevent further bed wounds and other health issues. We have managed with the resources we have, but we now need additional support.
