On the night of November 29th, our world changed forever. My stepdad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack. One moment he was here, laughing, talking, living his normal life, and in the next, he was gone. There was no warning, no time to prepare, no chance to say goodbye.
We are heartbroken. My mom lost her husband. My sisters lost the man who raised them. And our family is now trying to navigate the unbearable task of planning a funeral for someone we never imagined losing this soon.
As we begin to make arrangements, the financial weight of everything has hit hard. Nothing about this was expected, and like many families, we didn’t have the savings set aside for something like this, not for a sudden funeral, not for all the expenses that come with laying someone to rest with dignity, love, and honor.
I’m working to get back to Indiana to be with my mom and sisters as soon as I can, but balancing two young kids, my business, and my husband’s military schedule has made everything that much harder. I want to help them. I want to take care of them. I want to make sure we can give my stepdad the farewell he deserves. And right now, we can’t do that alone.
Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward funeral expenses, burial costs, and making sure my mom and sisters aren’t carrying this burden by themselves while they’re already trying to survive the shock and grief of this loss.
If you can donate, share, or even just keep our family in your thoughts, it means more than you know.
Thank you for helping us honor him. Thank you for helping us get through something we never expected to face.
