My journey has been filled with heartbreak and hope. Years ago, I lost my first son to a rare heart condition, and that pain led me down a path of addiction and struggle. But everything changed when I met my fiancée in rehab. Together, we found strength in each other and built a new life, determined to create a brighter future.
After rehab in California, we discovered we were expecting a baby. We packed up, bought a truck, and moved near her family, hoping for a fresh start. At the Grand Canyon, I proposed, and four months later, on the exact day of 40 weeks, our baby was born. It was supposed to be a routine birth, but instead, he arrived via emergency c-section. Both he and his mom developed infections, and now our baby is in the hospital, facing a long stay in the NICU that could last for months. The hospital is an hour from our apartment, which makes this time even more challenging for us as a family. We can't work, and we're struggling to cover basic needs like food, bills, travel, and medical expenses.
The trauma of my past feels like it's happening all over again, but I'm staying strong for my family. We need as much support as possible to get through this—prayers, kindness, and any help you can offer. Any donation or sharing of our story means the world to us. Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us hold onto hope.
