On Thursday, November 6th, 2025, what was supposed to be a routine colonoscopy for my husband turned into a medical nightmare. During the procedure, complications arose that caused a tear in his colon. What should have been a quick, uneventful day ended with him being rushed into emergency surgery, waking up with an ileostomy bag, and spending several days in the ICU.

After a long and difficult hospital stay, he’s finally expected to be discharged on Friday, November 14th. While we’re beyond grateful that he’s alive and recovering, the road ahead is long. He’ll be out of work for at least six weeks, and as our family’s main provider, this sudden loss of income has added a heavy financial strain to an already emotional time.

My husband is a disabled veteran who already faces daily challenges from his service-related conditions. This unexpected medical emergency has taken a real toll—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

We know times are tough for everyone, especially with the holidays approaching, and asking for help is not something we do easily. But right now, we could really use some support to help cover the cost of bills, and day-to-day expenses while he heals.
