Help Our Family Through a Difficult Month
Donation protected
This is my first time ever asking for help, and it’s not easy for me to do. I usually try to push through and make things work on my own, but right now my family and I have run out of options and are in urgent need of support.
I am the sole income provider for our family of five—my husband, our two children, and my mother-in-law. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law was admitted to the hospital this past Friday night, and her health is declining quickly. She has been disabled for some time and was supposed to receive government assistance, but aside from food stamps, that help never came through.
Our son recently aged out of child support this July, and while he is eager to start working, he can’t apply for jobs until we can afford to get him an ID. That small step forward is one of our biggest goals right now.
On top of this, we are struggling with our electricity. We’re on SRP’s M-Power plan, which allows us to “pay as we go.” During July and August, SRP had a moratorium that kept our power on without requiring payment, but now we’re left with over $700 in debt. My mother-in-law normally helped cover this through her UnitedHealthCare Healthy Benefits card, but since she is hospitalized and unable to access her account, we’ve lost that support too.
Between rent, electricity, and basic necessities like toilet paper, pet food, and gas to get our daughter to school and to the hospital, we are about $200 short of what we need to get through this month. With your help, we’ll be able to:
Keep our electricity on so our family has a safe home environment
Pay rent to avoid falling further behind
Cover essentials like toiletries, pet food, and gas
Get our son his ID so he can begin applying for jobs and contributing to our household
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference for us. I am more than happy to provide additional details if needed. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story, and for any kindness you can share during this difficult time.
