Help Our Family Stay Together Through AML Relapse & Recovery

Hi friends, family, and kind strangers—

My name is Alex Ricketts, and I am reaching out on behalf of my loving husband, Logan Ricketts, and our four children. After a hard-fought battle with AML Leukemia in 2017 and a successful stem cell transplant in 2018, we thought the battle was won. In 2019, Logan was officially declared a survivor. We were so thankful!! But during what was supposed to be a fun family trip to Nashville, we found out that his cancer has come back, which is apparently rare after 7 years post-transplant, according to his doctor.

We’ve been married since 2010 and have four beautiful children, ages 14, 12, 10, and 3. We had no choice but to be apart from them —just our three sons at that time— the first time we went through this. We are working hard to do everything within our power to make sure that we are able to stay together this time, throughout the whole process.

He will be starting another round of aggressive treatment and may face another transplant. He’ll be unable to work for the unforeseeable future, and as the sole provider for our family of six, we’re now facing a financial crisis on top of the emotional and physical toll. There are limited housing options available for our family to stay in Nashville during his treatment, so that I can be close to him and able to come and help with things at the hospital like laundry and being there for emotional support.
