Help Our Family Stay in Their Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mason. I’m a 21-year-old father doing everything I can to support my amazing 4-year-old little boy and our family.
We recently moved across the state to escape a very difficult and unsafe living situation. We hoped for a fresh start—but since arriving, we’ve faced one hardship after another and are now in urgent need of help to keep our home.
My partner was able to transfer her job to a new location, and I found new work as well. But starting a new job takes time, and I haven’t been paid yet. Without a steady second paycheck and with no savings left, we’ve fallen behind.
A few days ago, our only vehicle was repossessed because we couldn’t make the payment on time. I had been doing DoorDash on the side to make ends meet, but now we’re forced to spend money we don’t have on Ubers just to get to and from work.
On top of that, we were hit with an unexpected and expensive hospital visit. We’ve sold everything of value just to try to stay afloat. Our home is nearly empty now and if we can’t catch up soon, we may not even have a home to stay in.
We are hardworking and determined. We just had poor timing, poor planning, and a wave of bad luck all at once. I’m not someone who’s ever been comfortable asking for help. But right now, we’re out of options. I don’t have enough credit history to qualify for a loan, and I have no one who can co-sign for one.
I’m not just asking for handouts. I’m more than willing to work for any support we receive. I’m able-bodied and ready to do labor; I just need the opportunity. We’ve been homeless before, and we are doing everything in our power to prevent that from happening again.
Our landlord has been incredibly kind and understanding, and I don’t want them to feel like we’re taking advantage of their generosity. We’re just trying to make it through this storm and get back on solid ground.
If you’re able to help in any way—financially, or even just by sharing this—know that it means the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read our story.
