My name is Melvin, and I’m raising funds to help my immediate family—my wife, our three children, our dog, and myself—get through a challenging time. In 2023, I worked as a Regional Sr. HR Business Partner, a role that required frequent travel and remote work. As my company began laying off tens of thousands of employees and pushing for a return to office, I made the difficult decision to leave for a position closer to home. By April 2025, after nearly 12 years with my previous employer, I left due to overwhelming physical and mental stress and a misalignment of values.

Since then, it’s been a struggle to find a similar role while trying to downsize our life. Unfortunately, we’ve fallen behind financially, and our home and well-being are now at significant risk. Our mortgage is our largest and most urgent expense, and we are currently three months behind. With forbearance ending, we are working hard to secure additional time to get caught up, but the pressure is mounting.
