Help Our Family Save Our Home

Our family is facing a difficult time and we’re reaching out for help to keep our home. We have lived here for 41 years and truly don’t want to move. We love our neighbors and the community we’ve built. Six months ago, my husband suffered a serious hip injury and has been unable to work since. I’ve cleaned homes for a living for many years, but since the pandemic, work has become scarce. The business I worked for since 2009 recently closed, leaving us with no steady income.

We’re both in our mid to late 70s, and it’s becoming harder to find work or keep up with the physical demands. I also have age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in both eyes, which makes it even more difficult to work and manage daily tasks. We’ve fallen behind on our HOA payments and assessment fees, and now the HOA has given us just 40 days to pay or they will place a lien on our condo. On top of that, we have a monthly mortgage to cover and are struggling to keep up with basic expenses. We’re doing everything we can to get back on our feet, but right now, we need help to avoid losing our home.
