Help our Family Return Dilyan Home

On August 19th, 2025, Dilyan Miladinov unexpectedly passed away at only 51 years of age. He made an enormous impact on everyone he crossed paths with through his joy, gratitude, and welcoming attitude. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Mariya, and his two kids, Dilyan and Martina.

Immigrating from Bulgaria in search of a better life for his family, Dilyan came to the United States in 2009. His only dream was to one day return home to Bulgaria and reconnect with the family he left 16 years ago. In order to preserve his memory as he wished, we would like to raise funds to transport Dilyan home to Bulgaria and allow Mariya, Martina, and Dilyan the ability to accompany him.

My dad was the most caring and patient man. He was always there for me, my mom, and my sister. We would play basketball at the park until the lights went off and those are some memories I will cherish until my last breath. He was the type of man that put everyone before himself. He was everything to our family and I could never ask for a better father in my life. All I can do now is stay strong for my mom and sister and pray for my dad and our family. Any support is very much appreciated. God bless you all. -Dilyan

My family and I moved to the United States when I was just 4 years old. As I was very young, I was unable at the time to appreciate how much my parents have done for my family and I, especially my dad. As I grew up, I began to appreciate more and began to understand just how much my family has done to strive in this country. My dad took off work when we moved here, in order to support my brother and I since we were too young, and we always had him with us. My mom struggled as the sole provider of the household and they did their very best to make sure my brother and I had a successful future and a wonderful childhood. My dad was my best friend, my role model and my hero. From a little girl, I have always looked up to him and wanted to be just like him. He loved telling me about my family and Bulgaria’s history; as he was a proud Bulgarian and loved his country. My dad was the most humble and caring man there was. He put his family first before anything. He was always there for us and was our rock. He always lifted my spirits and would drop anything to help me and be by my side. He has gone far too early and even writing this message feels surreal. Although I am heartbroken and distraught at this time, I will continue to live for him, and I know he is always with me and will always be my biggest supporter. For my father’s last wish, I will do everything in my power to bring him back home to our family. Any help is greatly appreciated and my family and I would be forever grateful. -Martina
