Help Us Restore Our Mom’s Home

Our mom recently passed away, and our family has been working through the difficult process of settling her estate and taking care of her home.

Unfortunately, before Mom passed, the people living in her house were taking advantage of her. They were stealing from her and using methamphetamine in the home. After Mom died, they remained in the house and we had to go through the legal eviction process. They finally left at the end of last month.

The situation has been extremely difficult not only for our family, but also for the neighbors, who have dealt with ongoing problems and complaints surrounding the property. The former occupants' belongings and trash are currently piled up on city property outside the house, and we're finally at a point where we can begin moving forward.

Before we can safely start cleaning, repairing, and restoring Mom's home, we need to have the house professionally tested for methamphetamine residue. The testing is expected to cost approximately $2,000.

We also need to have a 30-yard dumpster delivered to the property so we can properly dispose of the large amount of trash and debris left behind. The quoted cost for the dumpster is $1,079.92.

Between the costs of settling Mom's estate and the many unexpected expenses that have come with everything we've had to deal with, our family simply doesn't have another $3,079.92 available right now.

We're setting our fundraising goal at $4,000 to cover the professional meth-residue testing, the dumpster and disposal costs, fundraising fees, and any small unexpected expenses that may come up as we begin this process.

We want to restore this house and give it a fresh start. It was our mom's home, and we'd really like to see it brought back to a safe, clean, livable condition rather than have everything that happened there be the final chapter of its story.

Our family has already come together to handle everything that has needed to be done, with siblings, spouses, and even the next generation pitching in along the way. We're asking our family, friends, neighbors, and members of our community to help us take this next step.

Any amount, no matter how small, will help us get closer to being able to begin the cleanup and restoration.
