Last month, the truck we use to get to work suffered a major engine failure. The oil pump gave out, which caused a rocker arm to be knocked out. Unfortunately, I still owe around $6,000 on the vehicle, and the lender won’t defer or hold payments while it’s not fixed. I tried refinancing, but I haven’t been able to get approved anywhere.

Then today, our second vehicle—the family car that fits us and our four kids—overheated and developed a leak in the radiator. We now need a new radiator for it, and our family of six is down to just one vehicle. Trying to get both vehicles repaired while staying ahead on bills has been incredibly overwhelming, especially since we’ve had to miss work due to the breakdowns.
