Help Young Quincy Family Recover from Medical Emergency

My family and I live in a 135-year-old house that my wife and I purchased in 2018, back when we were both moving upwards in our careers—her as a special education teacher in Boston Public Schools, and myself as a residential remodeling professional. Our home was in a state of disrepair when we bought it, and I have been slowly fixing it up over the years. When the COVID pandemic hit, a section of our roof began leaking, and I started working on rebuilding it in 2023. Unfortunately, the pandemic destroyed us financially. My wife was pregnant with our first child in 2020, and remote learning for her first-grade special education students was challenging. Even more difficult was the constant fear for at-risk individuals like pregnant women and babies during the height of the pandemic. To make matters worse, I had just started my own interior remodeling business in January 2020, but lost significant contracts when municipal permitting shutdowns began in March 2020. This is the backstory for the situation we find ourselves in now.

Sunday March 15, while trying to replace the tarp that keeps our roof waterproof after gale force winds on Saturday March 14 ripped the tarp off the roof, I fell from the roof and suffered a broken tibia, wrist, and pelvis. This accident will keep me out of work for months and unable to complete the roof repairs myself. My wife is pregnant, we have three small children, and now I am bedridden and healing. We are facing a rainy spring with a leaky home, a coming hot summer with high electric bills, and no employment income. We are doing our best to stay strong for our family, but we need help to get through this difficult time.

We are seeking help to be able to hire professionals to complete our roof work and supplement our income while we are both out of work and taking care of our young, growing family. Any support—whether through donations or sharing our story—would mean the world to us. Thank you for considering helping our family during this challenging chapter.
