Hi, my name is Jeri, and I’m a mom to my 6-year-old son, Jameson. My partner, Jimmy, and I are doing everything we can to keep our family stable during a really difficult time. Over the past few years, our family has gone through a lot of loss. I lost my dad a few years ago, and on march 9th I lost my mom. She was a huge source of emotional and financial support for us. She helped us get through tough months, whether it was groceries, small bills, or rent when we were falling behind. Losing her has left a gap that’s been incredibly hard to fill, both emotionally and financially.
Right now, we’re facing a housing crisis. We live in a below-market-rate apartment, but we’ve fallen behind on rent and owe several months. Our lease is not being renewed and we now have to find a new place to live, something that is extremely difficult to afford in Stamford CT. Our son Jameson has severe autism and is non-speaking. Stability and routine are very important for him, and this situation has been especially overwhelming as we try to keep his world as consistent and safe as possible.
We don’t want to leave our home, but we are at a point where we have to make a difficult decision. Our current plan is to relocate to North Carolina to stay with family so we can avoid homelessness and begin rebuilding. We are asking for help to cover back rent, moving expenses, and basic costs as we transition to get back on our feet. Our goal of 10k reflects the amount needed to stabilize our situation and start fresh. We are actively working toward long-term stability, but right now we are in a moment where we truly need help. This isn’t easy for me to share, but I’m trying to do everything I can to keep my son safe and stable. Any support means the world to us. If you’re able to donate, share, or keep us in your prayers, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read our story — Jeri, Jimmy & Jameson
