Hi my name is Brandon Gomez,
I am a disabled United States Coast Guard veteran with my wife Amanda and our 2 year old Son Cooper and I am fundraising to help my family recover from a recent fire in our home. While my wife and I were at work our cat “Kitty Rick” jumped on our stove turned it on and a cutting board and pans caught on fire burning for hours destroying our kitchen range and stove and heavily damaging the cabinets near the stove during the fire. Today based on the local fire department’s recommendation we contacted a local cleaning service which has quoted us over $10,000 for clean up and that’s only to clean the home not the belongings inside of it. Initially we assumed the clean up would not be that intense but after cleaning vigorously for days we have come to realize this task is a very huge undertaking and we really need help. Not to mention the black smearing ash and smoke damage on all of our furniture, kitchen appliances, dishes, drinkwear, mattresses, bedding, clothes, food and toys that we had originally thought were fine now we are seeing that replacement will be the best option.
This comes at the worst possible time for us after just moving into our new home 14 days ago from the coast and paying rent, bills and moving cost on both places during for the last two months. We currently don’t have anywhere else to stay or money to stay at a hotel and we are cooking outside with camping cooktops and eatting out. We have no family near by to help or even just help with babysitting which if anyone we know could come and help us keep our son occupied while we work on clean up that would help so so much.
We are hoping that the generous people out there in the internet community could help by any means possible. If it’s just coming out to help scrub down the walls for an hour, taking our son to the park for an hour or two if you know me personally. Or trying to just help keep an eye on him here so more work can be done would help greatly.
If any one wants to send cards, gift cards, letters of encouragement anything at all to help relieve some of the physical, mental and financial burden of this super stressful situation please send them to.

In closing we are blessed as a family to still all be together and have a roof over our head. Plus Our dog Lilly Survived the fire with no health problems and though we will be losing a lot of our possessions those possessions are all replaceable we are greatful to have each other.
