Help Our Family Recover from Devastating Flash Flood
Donation protected
A flash flood recently tore through my family's home in southern Oregon, leaving behind destruction and uncertainty for my family. While FEMA will help cover structural repairs, they won’t replace anything we lost inside or fix the damage outside the home.
My mom, her partner, 4-year-old brother, and 17-year-old sister are now living in unsafe conditions. The floodwater soaked the floors and walls, leaving behind bacteria that makes it dangerous—especially for a young child. Insurance won’t cover temporary housing, so we need to figure out how to safely live nearby while caring for all the animals on the property.
They’ve lost so much:
• the garage office and everything stored inside—completely destroyed.
• the floors in the majority of the house were covered in water, which will rapidly start growing mold up the walls within the house. It all needs to be torn up and replaced asap.
• the one-acre property is covered in mud and debris, and the fences for our farm animals and pets are gone.
• my sister’s travel trailer, which was her home, is a total loss.
We need help to recover and move forward. Donations will go toward:
• A storage or shipping container to protect what we have left.
• Temporary housing while repairs are made.
• Fence repairs to keep our animals and little brother safe.
• Equipment and labor to clear the overwhelming debris.
This flood took away more than just possessions—it upended my family’s security. Any amount helps, even just a share. Thank you for reading, and for any support you can give.
