Our hearts are broken as we ask for support for a loving, hardworking family whose lives were forever changed by a senseless act of violence.

Our 11-year-old relative was shot in the head inside her apartment complex. She is currently in the ICU, where doctors are doing everything they can to help her recover and regain as much quality of life as possible. At this time, she is able to hear loved ones and respond by moving parts of her body when spoken to, but she has lost 100% of her vision.

Her road ahead is uncertain and will require extensive medical care, therapy, and long-term emotional healing.

The trauma does not stop with her alone.

Because the shooter has not been taken into custody, the family lives in constant fear of retaliation and no longer feels safe returning to their home (Antioch) For their safety and for the well-being of all their children, they must leave everything behind.

This means leaving their home permanently, walking away from their income-earning jobs, and relocating to the Bay Area, where the cost of living is extremely high, all while remaining by their daughter’s bedside. Three other siblings are also deeply affected by the trauma of this incident.

This family is honest, humble, and hardworking, only seeking a safe and stable future for their children while building a life in the United States. They never imagined needing to ask for help, but they now face impossible circumstances.

Donations will help cover emergency living expenses, relocation costs to a safer community, lost income during this crisis, and future medical and therapy-related needs. Nuestros corazones están destrozados al pedir apoyo para una familia amorosa y trabajadora cuyas vidas cambiaron para siempre debido a un acto de violencia sin sentido.

Nuestra familiar de 11 años recibió un disparo en la cabeza dentro de su complejo de apartamentos. Actualmente se encuentra en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI), donde los médicos están haciendo todo lo posible para ayudarla a recuperarse y a lograr la mejor calidad de vida posible. El camino que tiene por delante es incierto y requerirá atención médica extensa, terapias y un largo proceso de sanación emocional.

El trauma no termina con ella.

Debido a que el agresor no ha sido detenido, la familia vive con un temor constante a represalias y ya no se siente segura regresando a su hogar en Antioch. Por su seguridad y por el bienestar de todos sus hijos, deben dejar todo atrás.

Esto significa dejar su hogar de manera permanente, renunciar a sus trabajos que les generan ingresos y reubicarse en el Área de la Bahía, donde el costo de vida es extremadamente alto, todo mientras permanecen al lado de su hija en el hospital. Otros tres hermanos también están profundamente afectados por el trauma de este incidente.
